With the wishes for our design concept for the New Work Office in Willich near Düsseldorf it quickly crystallized that the corporate values of the Hüsges Group should be reflected in the design.
The company, which has grown from an automotive expert office with its own IT and development department, wanted to have the 3 phases of the company represented in the design.
The “present” is represented on the first floor. For this purpose we incorporated modern materials into the New Work concept. In the office design for the first floor, only materials that reflect the current Zeitgeist are used. Besides sustainable ALPI Makassar veneer in a matt surface treatment we chose NTM FENIX, which represents the perfect symbiosis in our concept. The LED illuminated benches with button stitching and vegan fabric, which we as a carpentry company made especially for the project, complete the overall picture.
By using the epoxy resin flooring that is used throughout the building and taking over the bricks of the water tower that stands in front of the building, we have succeeded in reflecting the presence of the building on this floor. With modern lamps in industrial design and the splash and sound insulation ceiling we have implemented the desired New Work concept on this floor for our client.
This is also reflected in the washrooms, where we used washbasins made of the solid surface material Hi-Macs. The playful tiles create a very homely look in New Work style.
On the middle floor, which reflects the “FUTURE”, we have focused on purism. Clear design language without much playfulness. Here we have incorporated trend-setting wallpapers and illuminated walls into our “New Work” concept. With the roots of a joinery understood that the overall design of the room is not only influenced by wall colors and floor coverings, but that the selection of surfaces and structures is also decisive in overall office design. So we have not only used the window sills made of FENIX HPL on the lowest floor, but we have also incorporated them throughout the building as a design element.
Also in close coordination with our customer Arndt Hüsges from the Hüsges Group, we were allowed to give free rein to our creativity in the upper floor with this new work concept.
In close coordination with each other, a meeting room was created at the request of our customer, which in our latitudes can be called spectacular. Internally this room is called the Bavarian Room. For this purpose we built a wall paneling made of old wood from an old mountain hut with LED illuminated plexiglass logo, this combined with a bench and a service area made of FENIX NTM. The highlight in this room, however, is the almost 4-meter-long rivertable in front of the fireplace wall. When you stay in this room you get the feeling of being in the mountains. Only a small view outside can bring you back to the reality that this is a new work concept and that you are in an industrial area between Mönchengladbach and Düsseldorf. However, even on this floor you can feel a stalk running through the office design. In every corner you will find elements that repeat themselves from the other floors. But no floor is like another.
